Five players from the McMaster football program are headed to the big leagues.

Wayne Moore, Declan Cross, Zach Intzandt, Mike Kashak and John Ngeleka were selected in the 2016 Canadian Football League draft.

Moore, a running back with incredible athleticism and power, was selected 11th overall to the Montreal Alouettes. The fourth-year from Etobicoke, Ont. had a solid season, rushing 108 times for 565 yards and three touchdowns. He is the fourth McMaster running back to be drafted to the CFL.

Here's an example of Moore's strength:

Next, the Toronto Argonauts selected Cross with the 27th overall pick. The Oakville, Ont. RB/FB/SB is a do-it-all athlete who carved out a reputation as one of the best backfield blockers on the squad. Just look at the hit Cross puts on to start off his highlight pack:

Cross has one year of eligibility remaining.

With the 37th pick, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected Intzandt. The London, Ont. product was a key contributor to the Marauders sparkling 2015 offence, providing protection for the QB Asher Hastings, as well as clearing space for the rushing game. The 6-5 offensive lineman just finished his fourth year at McMaster and will be eligible to return to the Maroon and Grey if he does not make the squad out of camp.

Kashak was the fourth of the McMaster CFL selections, going 51st overall to the Calgary Stampeders. The 6-1 DE has been a part of a Marauder defensive line that wreaked havoc on OUA opponents over the past few years. In 31 games played, Kashak has 17.5 sacks.

Rounding out the Maroon draft content was DB John Ngeleka. He did not play in 2015 but suited up for Mac in the three previous seasons.

Five picks ties the modern record for McMaster players drafted. There were five players drafted in 2013 as well.

CFL training camps are set to open later this May, with the regular season kicking off on June 23.
