The McMaster Marauders toppled the Ottawa Gee-Gees last Saturday by a score of 42-31 to advance to the Yates Cup.

The Marauders raced out to an 18-0 lead in the first half, but the Gee-Gees countered with a 28-1 run to take the lead late in the third.

From there, the Marauders' defense kicked into place, holding Ottawa to just a field-goal. McMaster poured in 16 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

McMaster quarterback Marshall Ferguson threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns, while runningback Chris Pezzetta rushed for 143 yards. Wide receiver Daniel Vandervoort caught five passes, including a touchdown, for 137 yards.

The Yates Cup will be played at Ron Joyce Stadium this Saturday, Nov. 15. The Marauders will take on the Guelph Gryphons in their eighth Yates Cup appearance.
