The McMaster Students Union presidential election came to a close on Jan. 25 and Jovan Popovic was announced as the winning candidate with 3620 votes. In this announcement from MSU Elections, candidate Jialiang (Kevin) Hu was noted as being disqualified from the running as a result of seven standard violations and three severe violations, which totalled in fines greater than half of the election budget.
Sexual health was defined by the World Health Organization as overall well-being correlated with sexuality, ensuring a person feels that their needs are maintained. Furthermore, they indicated that sexual health isn’t simply limited to medical well-being, it includes the ability to be able to access the resources necessary to maintain these.

On Jan. 25, Queen’s University announced they they would begin working with Nous Group to address their financial struggles.
Current McMaster Students Union president Jovan Popovic won the 2024 election and will be serving a second term. Popovic’s platform this year touched on several diverse topics, with a focus on addressing some prominent struggles faced by students, including food and housing insecurity and inadequate supports for commuter students.
In today's economy, having a hobby appears to be a privilege. When doing what you love comes at a high financial cost, losing passion for it may become inevitable. So, when Sally Tsoi, a student at McMaster University, become aware of this barrier within the music world, she founded Sound of MacMusic. Offering free music lessons to McMaster students, the club is dedicated to making music more accessible. Currently, the club is recruiting new students and volunteer instructors, as well as organizing a group trip to Long & McQuade, Canada's largest music store.
